This Cookie Notice explains how SaasAmp use cookies and similar technologies (collectively referred to as “cookies”) to recognise your device when you visit our website at SaasAmp (“Platform”) and/or our application (together the “Services”). Moreover, we explain what these technologies are, why we use them, for which purposes as well as your rights to control our use of them.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are technologies used to store and retrieve data (personal or not) from a terminal equipment (your computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc.) used by an information society service for different purposes. Among them, cookies are used to allow proper functioning of a website; show it to you always in the same language and with the same currency; recognise your device when you visit a website or application, send personalized marketing communications to you; etc.
Other technologies that we use function in a similar way to cookies, and are used for similar purposes. For example:
- Web beacons or bugs. These are tiny graphics files (invisible to the eye due to their size and color) that are downloaded when visiting a website and stored also on a second site which allow its owner to register the user’s visit through the information the user’s browser provides when downloading the corresponding tiny image (IP address, operating system, browser version, etc.). In other words, web beacons contain unique identifiers to enable your device to be recognised when you have used it to visit our Services. They typically enable us to monitor the traffic patterns of our Services, improve our Services performance, understand and analyze how users have arrived to our services or to measure the success of email marketing campaigns.
- Local shared objects or flash cookies. These are files that are created by website and application operators and which are stored locally on your device. Local storage files are typically used to improve the functionality of our services and to remember your service preferences. These types of cookies can store much more information than ‘traditional’ cookies. Given that they are independent of the browser used, they are more difficult to locate, view or delete and they can be used, for instance, to regenerate standard cookies.
- Advertising identifiers. These are unique identifiers which are stored on your device and which enable your device to be recognised by us and third parties for personalized advertising and ad measurement purposes. If you use an Apple device, your advertising identifier is referred to as an “IDFA”. If you use an Android device, your advertising identifier is referred to as an “GAID”.
For the purposes of this Cookie Notice, we use the terms “cookie” and “cookies” generally to describe cookies and any other technologies or tracking methods that operate in a similar way to cookies, including those described above. If you want to know more about cookies and how they work, in general, you can obtain more information at www.youronlinechoices.eu and in the cookies guide of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (guia-cookies.pdf (aepd.es)).
2. Most common type of cookies
Below we give a general explanation of the categories of cookies that you can find on different websites, classified according to several criteria that do not have to be exclusive (a cookie can fall under different categories simultaneously; for example, serve to use the webpage and, in addition, to satisfy your preference about the language in which you want to be the website displayed.)
2.1 Depending on the entity that manages cookies
- First-Party/Own cookies, which are those sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the owner of the website or application (in this case, SaasAmp) and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
- Third-party cookies, which are those sent to the user’s terminal computer from a computer or domain which is not managed by the owner of the website. Therefore, another entity processes the data obtained through such cookies. The parties that set these third party cookies will be able to recognise your device both when it visits the website or application in question and also when it visits other websites that have partnered with them.
2.2 Depending on cookies purpose(s)
- Technical cookies, which allow the user to navigate through a webpage, platform or application and use its different options or services. Technical cookies also include those that the owner uses to allow the management and operation of the website and enable its functions and services, such as controlling the traffic and data communication; identify the session; access restricted access parts; remember the elements that make up an order, conduct the purchase process of an order and manage payment; fraud control linked to the security of the service; perform the application for registration or participation in an event; use security elements while browsing; store content for broadcasting videos or sound; enable dynamic content (for example, text or image loading animation) or sharing content through social networks. These cookies cannot be deactivated.
- Preference(s) or personalization cookies, which allow information to be remembered so that the user accesses the service with certain characteristics that may differentiate its experience from others (such as the preferred language, the number of results to be displayed when the user performs a search, etc.)
- Analytical or measurement cookies, that allow users’ behavioral tracking and analysis of websites use, including advertisement(s) impact quantification. Such cookies collect information for measuring a website activity, application or platform, to introduce improvements based on users’ data analysis services use. These cookies will only be installed with your prior express consent.
- Behavioral advertising cookies are those that store information about users’ behavior obtained through continued observation of their browsing habits, which allows the development of a specific profile(s) to display advertisements. These cookies will only be installed with your prior express consent.
2.3 Depending on the period of time cookies remain activated
- Session cookies are those designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a web page. They are usually used to store information that is only intended to be kept for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion (for example, a list of products purchased) and disappear at the end of the session.
- Persistent cookies are those in which the data continues to be stored in the terminal and can be accessed and processed during a period defined by the person responsible for the cookies, and it can last from a few minutes to several years. We reduce its temporary duration to the minimum necessary taking into account the purpose of its use. For example, to remember your online preferences or what you added to your online shopping basket.
3. What Cookies Do We Use Here?
